Pensions how much will you lose?
Departmental/Civil Service management has issued a pensions calculator. This omits the substantially increased contributions staff will have to make and the disastrous effect of switching the inflation calculation for uprating pensions from RPI to CPI, a move which will substantially decrease the value of all pensions over a number of years. The claim that it is the Government’s objective that staff within 10 years of pension age will not be affected is highly misleading. We recommend that you use the PCS pensions calculator instead. Please note that this has been updated to take account of the changes recently offered by Ministers.
